Collins 830 Power amp parts
The amp
is the power amp stage from a commercial 10kw FM transmitter and it is in
the process of being converted to a HF short wave standby power amp for an
overseas commercial user. The FM output has been removed and the section opened
ready for insersion of the HF output stage.
As some
AM shortwave stations are being replaced with DRM this project has ceased
and the parts as listed below including the full circuit plus the old Collins
circuit to make it easy to adapt. This is a project for the experienced only.
My guess from experience tells me there is approx 300+ hours to finish it.
A few items such as a glass pannel need replacing and there are new fronts
made for 2 of the meters so restoring it is a lot of work but not to difficult
given most of the difficult parts are supplied. The unit plus all parts are
sold as is as everything is used unless listed and nothing has been tested
accept the mains HT transformers, some resistors and some capacitors.
At this
stage it could be used on single or 3 phase power.
