Locally funded
programs
Mainland has been granted NZ on Air funding for specific approved local programs and
below are some of the details of programs planned for 2007-08.

Television - Nelson
Issues - 8-9pm Monday nights
plus repeats
The
program looks at local issues that are of public interest, issues that are
often in the news or related to current affairs. The program will look at
current affairs also involving organizations, clubs, groups and hobbies in
our community. The program will explore things happening locally and provide
in-depth coverage of major news stories. Excerpts from this may be included
in the news.
The
program is pre-recorded with minimal studio talking heads and
as much on location filming as possible. We will be out in the community and
letting people tell their story.
The
program will not contain any local body politics until after the local body
election.

-Those who wish to broadcast any local body political messages must contact
the sales department and pay our standard advertising rates.

The Mainland Touch - 8-9pm Wednesday night live plus repeats
The
program is designed to touch peoples emotions, passions and community spirit
with an open discussion forum. The open line talk back with enable guests
to discuss any local topics of interest. The presenters and guests will offer
advice and information to callers on a range of subjects. It will enable the
viewers to phone in and ask questions. The guests will be people passionate
about local issues or who have expertise in fields that can shared with
viewers.
Most
of the show being live is in studio but we will insert other material
as appropriate.
