Company
Profile
Mainland
broadcasts 5 television channels 24 hours a day in New Zealand.
The company also operates its own radio stations on -
88.4 Mainland FM, Nelson-wide &
Marlborough ( 107FM Golden Bay, Motueka)
and we can arrange multi-media advertising packages for clients
using TV, Radio and the Internet.
The
company is the country's longest running regional TV broadcaster
and operates the largest number of digitally produced Regional
TV channels in New Zealand.
Mainland
is totally NZ owned, debt free and operated by a staff of twelve
in Nelson. It has it's own studio and offices at 133 Waimea Road
Nelson. The satellite dishes and building have become a Nelson
icon and local land mark on the main highway into the city.
Our
high-tech fully digital operation enables us to keep advertising
costs relatively low for our clients, who are experiencing the
enormous impact of free to air sport, news and entertainment from
both local, national and international sources as a significant
marketing tool. Almost every new advertiser after three months
has stated: "We should have done this ages ago".
Mainland
was the first NZ TV station to go digital. It has built many TV
and Radio stations in NZ and overseas and provides a wide range
of technical services. ( NB Everything is digital up to our transmitters
which is analogue picture but digital stereo sound so we are ready
for Digital broadcast when NZ the Govt approves the technology.)
Our "flagship" programs are our live talkback shows,
hosted by local personalities and featuring local, national and
international guests.
More
and more people are turning to regional television for news, sport,
entertainment and to have their say on local issues. Mainland
TV channels
provide over 20 hours a week of locally produced programming.
Regional
TV is now leading advertising campaigns as the most cost effective
medium available. Our clients are all very happy with their advertising
on Mainland TV and Radio. The networks report fewer viewers and
newspapers show shrinking circulation. At the end of the
day the community priorities are issues that affect us all daily
and regional TV is right there when it happens covering local
events.
The
company produces TV commercials for broadcast on TVNZ and the
other networks plus has filmed sport and other material for SKY
TV for a number of years. The company has won a number of awards
for its professional productions.
